Body Studios is located in Newton, MA just 20 minutes
from downtown Boston, within 90 minutes of Hartford,
CT and an hour from Worcester, MA.
Hollow Body Studios features truly classic vintage and
modern tube & non-tube condenser, ribbon and dynamic
microphones along with legendary tube and solid state
pre-amplification, equalization and compression. Hollow
Body's collection of both rare vintage and modern recording
equipment offers a unique experience with remarkable
results and proven success.
We create truly warm, dynamic, and professional recordings

Songs recorded and produced
at Hollow Body Studios have appeared on major network
television programs and garnered a ton of national and
international radio airplay.
(As of 2/17/11, our featured
artist Luis Moreno is charting at # 17 on the STS
indie chart and # 10 on the STS Prime Mover chart with
his song "Burden", ahead of Maroon 5, Pink
and JLo.)

Songwriter,
producer, lead engineer and owner Doug Kwartler has
been recording music for almost 20 years. Over
many years, Hollow Body Studios built a reputation as
leading recording studio in the Long Island, NY area,
recording both local artists and bands and songwriters
from other parts of the northeast and mid-atlantic region.
Even early on in the studio's history, artists took
notice and would remark that songs recorded by Doug
at Hollow Body were different than most local recordings
because they "sounded like real records."
In late 2009, Doug and his family moved from Long Island
to Boston, MA and Hollow Body Studios "Boston"
was opened soon after. Now with much more space and
even better gear, Hollow
Body Studios continues to record artists not only from
the Boston area, but songwriters and performers from
New York, Philadelphia and even as far away as Michigan
who travel to Hollow Body to record as well.

Rates:
The current in-studio rate is $45 / hour. This includes
use of the studio and studio owner / producer Doug Kwartler
recording your songs. It also includes use of most of
the instrument stock of the studio. We also provide
full-production for singer - songwriters! If you need
full-band arrangments and production for your cd, you've
come to the right place!
