At Hollow Body Studios we carefully considered the purchase of each and every piece of equipment so that we would be able to offer our clients major label quality at affordable rates. The first thing you'll notice is that we try, whenever possible, to link equipment in our list to reviews of that product from respected industry professionals. This way, you know proof positive that you're going to be recording / mixing / mastering with top of the line, industry respected professional equipment.

(Hear audio samples on the "About Us" page.)

Our new microphone and mic preamp / compressor additions put Hollow Body right at the pinnacle of professional studios. Neumann, Avalon, Universal Audio and Apogee are simply the best you can get anywhere for your recording needs. Check out the most famous studios and you won't find many without Neumann and Universal Audio equipment and Apogee converters. You'll also see that some of the equipment we use, like our ART Pro VLA Tube compressor have won awards as top in their class by leading magazines in the industry. While others, like our Waves Ultramaximizer (mastering limiter, gain maximizer) have simply been called "the best." No real studio would be complete without an authentic vintage Hammond organ. At Hollow Body, we have one. The Hammond M-3, the B-3's "little brother." Additionally we have the rare Dynacord Leslie simulator. This is simply a great Leslie sound, comparable to the actual cabinet. We had to buy this unit oversea's in Germany - that's how hard it is to find here in the U.S.

First and foremost is our "industry standard" Pro Tools recording system. This system offers 32 - tracks of 24-bit, up to 96khz of digital recording bliss. Remember, you'll be recording using the same basic software that almost all the major labels and recording studios use.

Next, we figured, if we're going to be mastering and mixing from the "industry standard" system, we better well use the "industry standard" Yamaha NS-10M near-field monitors. And we also better have among the best mastering programs (including the most amazing limiting, compression, eq and reverb) available to make our client's cd's the best (and loudest for you gain-heads!) they can be. At Hollow Body Studios, we also offer the ability to mix your songs down to 1/2" 2-track reel to reel format. This really fattens up your recording. There's a reason why most major studios and producers take this critical step to perfect their records.

We offer plenty of tube processing, eq, compression and some great condenser microphones as well to give you that warm, up-front sound you hear on your favorite recordings.

On your right is a list of our equipment.
